Eskom ‘stable’ but threat of load-shedding looms
Johannesburg – There is a moderate chance that load-shedding may be implemented this week, power utility Eskom said on Monday.
“The system is currently constrained but stable. One could say there is a 50/50 chance of implementing load shedding,” spokesman Khulu Phasiwe said.
The power utility has said its production capacity is under strain, as technicians are carrying out maintenance on some of its generating units.
It warns the power could go off at short notice on Monday.
