Social Protection Responses in SADC: A Review of Current and Future Cash Transfer Programmes

SPII alongside with the Southern Africa Trust and OSISA co-hosted a roundtable webinar that considers social cash transfers as a critical policy tool that could be used to not only meet people’s immediate humanitarian needs, or provide an individual and house-hold based economic recovery stimulus at a national level, but also to build a protective safety net to protect against future shocks to national and regional wellbeing. And our very own Isobel Frye and Langa Zita were part of the panel.
